DISASTER PREPAREDNESS

  • Communicate your evacuation plans with your oxygen provider
  • Obtain additional portable oxygen cylinders
  • Rotate respiratory medications but always stock at least 2 weeks additional
  • Learn how to use your cylinders to take nebulized treatments
  • Bring ALL your medications with you if you leave
  • Keep a copy of your medication list with you
  • Keep a copy of your oxygen prescription with you
  • Have a list of all other emergency numbers with you
  • Have these essentials in an airtight container
  • Be watchful using oxygen around open flames such as candles or lanterns
  • Have a letter of necessity on file with your electric company if you are oxygen dependent.
