  • Low exercise tolerance

Emphysema Risk Factors:

In the United States, the number one risk factor for developing emphysema is cigarette smoking. Additional emphysema risk factors may include:

LINCARE DAY 11943

Nebulized Breathing Treatments

Emphysema treatment often includes the use of nebulizers, which deliver medication to the airways in the form of an aerosol that then gets inhaled. Medication, including bronchodilators, may be prescribed to open up the airways and reduce emphysema symptoms. Lincare offers both portable and stationary nebulizer compressors  based on needs.

Oxygen Therapy

Emphysema can lead to low oxygen levels in the body, fatigue and shortness of breath. Supplemental oxygen may be prescribed by your practitioner to ease symptoms. At Lincare, we offer a variety of oxygen delivery systems and devices to meet your respiratory needs.

How We Can Help

Patients who receive a manufactured valve will almost always require a blood-thinning medication for the rest of their lives. The blood thinner will keep clots from forming. Living with a Mechanical Heart Valve can be challenging, but you're not in it alone. Lincare’s affiliates are here for you and provide at Home PT/INR Testing. The INR Testing program may improve health-related quality of life while receiving the medical treatment you need.
