Power Wheelchairs
Treatment Type 1
A power wheelchair, also known as an electric wheelchair, offers a mid to high-level support seat over four or six wheels and a joystick steering arrangement. Elevating leg rests, oxygen tank carriers, and specialized cushions are available when medically necessary, as well as many out-of-pocket accessories. Two batteries are stored on board and can be charged either onboard or through a separate battery charger.
Mobility Scooters
Treatment Type 2
A mobility scooter, also known as a POV, has a mid-level support seat over three or four wheels and a handlebar steering arrangement in front to turn the wheels. The seat may swivel to allow access when the handlebars block the front. A battery or two is stored on board the scooter and is charged via an onboard or separate battery charger.
